Features :- Ingersoll-Rand Asphalt Compactor - PT240R Large Asphalt Compactors – PT240R The PT-240R is an 8-wheel pneumatic tire compactor. This unit is ideal for compacting Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and rolling chip/seal, soil cement or other stabilized soils. The PT-240R has an operating weight of 35,515 pounds (16.1 tonnes) unballasted, variable to 52,910 pounds (24 tonnes) fully ballasted. A turbocharged four cylinder Cummins B3.9 diesel engine rated at 105 horsepower (78 kilowatts) powers this compactor. A threespeed gearbox drives a prop shaft to a locking differential; this drives two gear transmissions to the rear wheel pairs; no chains used. Sufficient power is provided for altitude operation, rolling on steeper grades and on materials with higher rolling resistance. Rolling speed is infinitely variable up to 11.8 miles per hour (19 kilometers per hour).
