serviceability
The exclusive Volvo tilting or slide out counterweight system offers excellent access to the engine compartment while providing total protection to the rear of the machine. All the maintenance and checking points are close at hand to save time. The fuel tank is transparent so that the level can be checked quickly and is easily removed for cleaning.
The directional control block is ideally situated at the front of the machine for immediate, easy access. All the circuits are equipped with pressure pick-ups for fast diagnostics. All the equipments hoses are free and sheathed and therefore with no rubbing or wear and are connected at the bottom of the boom for very quick replacement, if necessary.

Operator comfort is a priority for Volvo. The Volvo cabs and canopies are among the most spacious in their categories and easily accessible. The hydraulic controls are power-assisted and very progressive for more flexibility and precision. Volvo’s new ergonomic joysticks feel good and are complemented by side arm rests, which give a natural and very comfortable operating position. Travel pedals allows operator to quickly reposition the machine on the trench. The power-assisted boom offset hand control provides outstanding precision and smoothness while digging alongside a wall with increased efficiency.

Power, smoothness, independence of movements: the hydraulic Load-Sensing circuit fitted to the machines represents the best available technology. The system enables all the machine’s controls to be combined. Travelling in a straight line is maintained even when other movements are actuated.
The Volvo Compact Excavators also offers unique smoothness of operation combined with impressive digging force. Break out and tear out forces are some of the highest in the industry, giving high work efficiency even in the most difficult ground.
The quick coupling system, available as an option, enables bucket or accessory to be changed without the operator leaving the cab. Appreciated by all users, this device saves a lot of time and increases comfort considerably without altering the bucket’s performances or sequence of operations. The bucket has a very large range of movement: over 200°. This characteristic guarantees a good attack and square excavations at all depths.

The very compact dimensions of the Volvo machines enable them to work safely on the narrowest sites. The equipment is well protected to reduce the risk of damage and machine downtime and preserve good residual value.

The covers are made from "telene" polymer resin (a material used for vehicle bumpers), a high impact resistant and rust-proof material to enhance the resell value over time. It also provides less vibration than metal covers. Hydraulic hoses are replaced by zinc-plated tube, whenever possible, for less downtime and repair.
Load sensing hydraulic system provides a high fuel efficiency giving between 9-15 hrs per tank full, depending on model.
